Last week, the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux showcased the Bordeaux 2017 vintage in bottle to the UK trade. Ahead of the trade tasting, we analysed what has happened to the prices since release. On average, they are down 1% but the performance of individual wines has been mixed. Find out more.
The value of LIVE offers on Liv-ex surpassed £34million on Friday – a new record. Trade by value and volume also rose last week. Bordeaux’s share improved from a record weekly low 31.4% to 44.9%, led by its 2016, 2014 and 2005 vintage. Find out more here.
Dominus 2016 has been released in the UK at £2,200 per 12×75, the same price as last year’s release, which has since risen in value. The Wine Advocate’s Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW awarded the wine 100 points and praised its “compelling earthy accents” and “incredible vibrancy”. Last week also marked the latest UK release from the Champagne house Krug: Krug 2006 – “Capricious Indulgence”. The wine is being offered at £2,200 per 12×75, up 15.8% on the 2004’s release price of £1,900. Allocations are reportedly tight; however, there will be another allocation to merchants in 2020.
