Chateau Chasse-Spleen is located in Moulis en Medoc. The chateau second wine ,L'Heritage de Chasse-Spleen, was known as L'Ermitage before 2000. The plantings consist of over a large 101 hectares of gravel over limestone The wine is matured in oak barriques for 18 months and is bottled unfiltered. The greatest Médoc wines have chosen, and they were the first to do so, to select their vintages so as to enhance the assets of this great wine, and to reduce the vintage-years’ vagaries and guarantee some stability in their qualitative supply. In the seventies, many Mé Climatedoc vintages embarked on this course. Chasse-Spleen, in turn, took part in this movement in 1979, with Oratoire de Chasse-Spleen.
Tasting notes: Dark red, bright and unclouded. Lively nose of red-fruit aromas, a hint of chocolate powder. Flavours of red fruits, ripe blackcurrants. Lively and vibrant wine. Balanced and straight. A very persistent.
