Pommard Combes Dessus, Marquis d’Angerville 2018

Pommard wine is only used for red wine with Pinot Noir as the main grape variety. There are no Grand Cru vineyards within Pommard, but several highly regarded Premier Cru vineyards.Pommard wines are typically among the most powerful and tannic of the Beaune area, providing a clear contrast to the light and elegant Volnay wines from the neighboring village. 

Domaine Marquis d'Angerville is a highly regarded vineyards in the Côte du Beaune. The domaine became a producer leader in the 1920s when it began to make and bottle its own wine, at a time when the common practice was for élevage and bottling to take place in the hands of négociants. The Marquis d' Angerville domaine eight premier cru vineyards in Volnay, as well as one each in Meursault and Pommard.

Tasting notes: Medium bodied. A savory powerful and tanic  red wine. Cassis, bell pepper and cedar flavour with a pure mineral core structure .A well balanced wine
