The Petit Lafite wine is second wine from Smith Haut Lafite a wine producer from Pessac Leognan appellation south of Bordeaux. The vineyard developed though the years ,but the property had been grew vines for centuries. The noble Bosq family started growing grapes here as early as 1365. The property was purchased in the 18th century by Scotsman George Smith, who gave the estate its present name . The propriety produced an elegant red wine and the sophisticated bouquet of its white wine, Smith Haut Lafitte undoubtedly deserves the special care that is lavished on it.

Extraction of tannin and colour was done by pigeage (punching down the cap) and/or pumping over. Maceration took place at 26-28°C and the duration (between 4 and 6 weeks) varied from vat to vat as determined by regular tasting. The wine was then aged in barrel for 14 months.

Tasting notes: A beautiful dark colour. The nose is relatively discreet at first, but goes on to reveal elegant, expressive overtones of black cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant, dried herbs, cedar, liquorice, clove, and empyreumatic nuances .The wine's fine structure lasts from beginning to end thanks to round, yet firm tannin.
