Mercurey les Montots Domaine A de P de Villaine, Burgundy 2015
Mercurey is an appellation (AOC) as well as a village in the Cote Chalonnaise( once was call Mercurey region) region of Burgundy. This AOC is very unusual by using 100% pinot gris as well as Chardonnay grape for the white and a little Chardonnay could be added to make red wine . The Montots Domaine is located in Bouzeron village, an enclave which was identified by the monks of Cluny, in the Middle Ages, as having a particularly favourable terroir. Tasting notes : Medium bodied . Savory red wine with red cherry fruit and a hint of earthy minerality flavour. Silky well balanced structure
