The Setúbal Peninsula's located south of Lisbon, has been officially named "Peninsula de Setúbal" since 2008, but before that was known as VR Terras do Sado, meaning "lands of the river Sado". A sandy land on the hills this area produce excelent red wine mainly made from Castelao grapes which do perform and ripe well in the area. 

Bacalhôa Wines, was founded in the last century in the 20s , under the designation João Pires & Sons. Trough the years the estate has  developed to the  most innovative wine in Portugal today. The grape varieties are fermented separately using the traditional method, with a short maceration period, and fermentation at a controlled temperature.The producer have made a modern style wine, which is very fruity and particularly pleasant when consumed young.

Tasting notes: Medium bodied red rubis colour  wine with a sweet tannins , well balanced and a smooth harmonious finish
