L'Hospitalet de Gazin pomerol, Bordeaux, France 2014
l'Hospitalet de Gazin second wine of Château Gazin, from the appellation Pomerol .This unclassified, but the estate has since the 1840s been estimated among the great growths of Pomerol. The vineyard neighbors Pomerol powerhouse Petrus, as well as Château l'Evangile, which is owned by Domaines Baron de Rothschild. The estate consists of 26 hectares with the grape varieties of 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc .
Gazin has been owned by successive generations of the de Baillencourt dit Courcol family and now, under the stewardship of Nicolas and Christophe de Baillencourt, it has really re-found its feet, after some difficult years.Their approach in both vineyard and cellar combines traditional practice with modern techniques which equally benefits L’Hospitalet.
