English wines producer make their mark!
English Sparkling wine Nyetimber has been launched. This moment is a big turning point for English wine, it's the first ever English “Demi-Sec”style Sparkling wine that has been released. This wine from Nyetimber (wine producer) is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. The winemaker Cherie Spriggs is very pleased with the wines results .The sweetness levels are good, very refreshing, crisp, pure quality, it's an exciting product. The winery at Rathfinny Estate in East Sussex aims to be the greenest wine producer in the world. The first 20 hectares of vines ,Chardonnay, pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for 'sparkling wine' and Riesling for 'still wine' all planted in March this year. The £10m project aims to release the first wines in 2014. The Rathfinny's winery will employ all sustainable design techniques to make this project ecological as possible for a wine producer. Rupert Seldon, partner and project manager at the construction company Buro Four, described Rathfinny as an ‘unique project’ and said it aims ‘to set a new global standard for sustainable wine production’
