Côte de Nuit Villages rouge, Domaine Gilles Jourdan, Cote d'Or, Burgundy 2013
The Côte de Nuits is a French wine region located in the northern part of the Côte d'Or (a departement),at the heart of the Burgundy wine region. It extends from Dijon to just south of Nuits-Saint-Georges .Though some other wines are produced in the region, the Côte de Nuits is most famous for reds made from Pinot noir. The Domaine Gilles Jourdan is exceptional terroir, allied to well-handled, sensitive winemaking. Gilles Jourdan is a one man band, run with enthusiasm and passion. The vineyard is small covering just 5 hectares, part owned part en fermage including a monopole, La Robignotte, a lieu-dit which is absolutely top de la creme, for what is essentially a basic villages wine. A very good value
