The vineyard Bonneau du Martray is located on the Corton hill at the heart of l'appellation d'origine Corton-Charlemagne. The reputation wine area go back to Carolingien time and Corton's wines were a favorite of the Emperor Charlemagne, who lends his name to the white wines made on the western side of the hill .The corton hill shared between the three villages of Aloxe-Corton,Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix in the Côte de Beaune, Burgundy.
Bonneau du Martray family own the domaine for last centuries but anounced this most Considered prestigious estates on Corton Hill, has been sold to American businessman Enos Stanley Kroenke. This billionnaire business man already owns Screaming Eagle in California’s Napa Valley, and is the majority owner of Arsenal football club in the UK
Soils: Halfway up the hillside, the reddish stony soil with its iron rich oolites produces a beautiful, firm, elegant, straightforward Grand Cru: "Corton". This wine has exceptional keeping qualities. On the the very steep slopes of the Corton hillside we also have marl rich soils which favour the elaboration of "Corton Charlemagne", a legendary white.

Tasting notes: Limpid, firm ruby colour. The nose is juicy, sweetly fruited with the restrained power of perfect ripeness, treacle rich. The palate has a silken density with powder fine tannins, broad generous flavours and delectable balance to the finish.
