The reputation wine area go back to Carolingien time and Corton's wines were a favorite of the Emperor Charlemagne, who lends his name to the white wines made on the western side of the hill .The corton hill shared between the three villages of Aloxe-Corton,Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix in the Côte de Beaune, Burgundy.
Settled in Meursault since the mid 19th century, with the marriage of Claude Duvergey and Marie Taboureau in 1868. At first they were known as Duvergey-Taboureau a wine and spirits merchant without any investment in viticulture. The company thrived the wine trade for many years and continuing into the 20th Century. The family began investing in viticulture and purchasing vineyards,including Jacques Prieur Domaine in the late 18th century. Today the estate its well establishing in Burgundy comprised 21 hectares (52 acres) of vineyards (11ha/27ac in Pinot Noir and 10ha/25ac in Chardonnay).The Domaine Jacques Prieur owns a large part of all Burgundian Grands Crus Appellations: Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Corton-Bressandes, Echézeaux, Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Chambertin and Chambertin Clos de Bèze. 14 Premiers Crus complete this collection: Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes, Meursault Perrières, Meursault
2015 Exceptional sunshine! The year 2015 profited from completely exceptional climatic conditions with surplus sunning, very weak pluviometry and very high temperatures in June and July. The strong luminosity and heat marked this year with accelerated vegetative cycle and certain stages such as flowering at the beginning of June and ripening at the beginning of August were fulgurating.
Harvests : started on 3rd September for Chardonnays and on 7th September for the Pinot Noirs.
TERROIR of 0.73 hectare plot. Situated on the hill where the Grands Crus of Corton are located. The south-east facing vineyards and slight slope ensure perfect ripening. This sun exposure, combined with stony clay-limestone soil, is conducive to early ripening whatever the weather during the growing season.
VINIFICATION & AGEING The grapes were handpicked into small crates, then sorted and totally destemmed. The wine stayed on the skins for 19 days in temperature-controlled open oak vats. Pigeage (punching down the cap) was done twice a day during alcoholic fermentation. 100% malolactic fermentation The wine was aged entirely in oak barrels. Duration of barrel ageing : 20 months

Tasting notes: Intense ruby colour red with dark purple reflections with nose smoky, tobacco and leather notes evolving into ripe and fresh black fruit. Dense and pulpy palate.
