The Les Ricards vines have hard taskmasters in Xavier and Corinne, who savagely restrict their growth. Severe pruning, green harvesting and meticulous selection make for concentrated wines with great intensity. Les Ricards is aimed at being a crowd-pleaser, a soft, fruity, accessible wine from vines grown on sandy-gravel soils.The estate is based in Cars,regarded as Blaye’s top winemaking village. Les Ricards is aged for 12 months in oak of which 25% is new.
Tasting note: An appealing nose, clean although very slightly dusty, with an attractive layer of berry fruit, nuanced with dark Assam tea leaves and green olives
