19th meeting Cabernet Sauvignon the Lane Adelaide Hills, Australia 2012
Vines were planted in the Adelaide Hills as early as the mid-1800s but not until about 1980 did the region become revitalized and viticulture become a serious endeavor. This winery is the brainchild of well-known Aussie winemaker John Edwards , whose long-term dream was to make distinctive wines with all the exuberance of Australian-grown fruit yet classic ‘old world’ structure. I The style and quality of The Lane’s exceptional wines is the result of a combination of factors; cool temperatures (for Australia at least!), ancient gravel/limestone and clay soils, meticulous vineyard work, and sensitive winemaking melding ‘old world’ approaches with hi-tech winery wizardry.
Tasting note: Silky smooth, red and black berries, Satsuma plum, subtle clove complexity. Long luscious tannins, elegant fine & seamless
