Château Barrail du Blanc is part of the saint Emilion appellation east of Bordeaux wine area. The estate is a small property of 7 hectares, located in Saint Sulpice de Faleyrons with a vineyard planted on the lime stone saint Emilion plateau. Such terroir makes for easy-drinking, generous wines without breaking the bank. The family which has owned Barrail du Blanc for over 150 years, formerly sold off their grapes. However, in 1995 they decided to produce their own wine. After a considerable investment which was necessary to ensure optimal quality. A new charming Saint Emilion wine under the label Barrail du Blanc was born . The Chateau Barrail du Blanc became a Grand Cu Classe in 1955
The vineyard, averaging 25 years of age, is planted on gravel and clay soils that allow for good drainage and are particularly well-suited to Cabernet Franc. The grapes are treated with attentive care by Monsieur Elliès and his daughter, Nathalie, in the vineyard and in the cellar. Ploughing, green harvesting, and leaf cropping are favored in order to ensure a consistent maturity of the fruit. The wine is vinified in stainless-steel and aged partly in French oak barrels (1/3 new).

Tasting notes: Medium Bodied. Firm ruby in colour, this has a nice thick red fruit nose, a sweet, seductively chewy palate and a fresh, clean, surprisingly long finish
