Château Durfort-Vivens ranked as a 2eme cru classe, located in the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux wine region. The grand cru classe is a classification created to showcasing the very best French wines. Owned since 1961, by Gonzague Lurton family the Durfort Vivens estate is 136-acre vineyard planted on deep gravel soils over a clay base and sand. 70 percent of the vines are Cabernet Sauvignon, 24 percent Merlot and 6 percent Cabernet Franc. In the winery, there are a range of wooden and concrete vats sized to match specific vineyard parcels.
